In December we said a sad farewell to John Bowater, the branch manager of SK Sales in Washington.
John had been with us for 16 years but felt it was time to hang up his HVAC manual as retirement beckoned. We wish you all the very best John for a long and a happy retirement.

Daikin, one of the world leaders in climate control systems, is pleased to announce its appointment of SK Sales as a new mass distribution channel (MDC) partner in the UK, with the wholesaler now an official stockist of Daikin’s solutions for the air-conditioning sector.
At a time when air quality and ventilation is at the forefront of building design, the new partnership is a great result for the HVAC industry, providing installers and building service engineers with extended access to Daikin’s range of air-conditioning and ventilation products.
A leading ventilation, fan and air handling wholesaler, SK Sales - part of the Airvance Group - has over 25 years’ experience in the UK HVAC sector. This new partnership signals SK Sales’ recent expansion into the air-conditioning market, led by newly appointed Head of Air Conditioning, Richard Sked. While Daikin’s flexible split systems form part of its air-conditioning offering for the home, providing both outstanding comfort, energy efficient technology and a variety of design options.
Speaking about the partnership, Nick Dray, Mass Distribution Channel Manager at Daikin, said: “We’re delighted to have SK Sales on board as one of our new MDC partners. At Daikin, the opportunity to take on a new partner who shares our vision of creating better and healthier internal environments was one we could not ignore. The France Air group, a designer and distributor of ventilation products and solutions for indoor air quality and comfort, announces that it has completed its acquisition of SIG Air Handling, a division of the British group SIG plc.
SIG Air Handling is a European leader in the distribution of ventilation products for tertiary and residential buildings with a large European presence and strong positions in France, Belgium, Bulgaria and the Netherlands. It also covers the United Kingdom, Germany, Romania, Austria and Hungary. The France Air group has a strong presence in France, Portugal, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. These complementary territories provide optimal coverage and give the new venture a solid European base.
This acquisition enables the France Air group to accelerate the internationalisation strategy that Laurent Dolbeau has been implementing for the last five years, creating a European leader in ventilation for buildings, with 1800 employees based in 14 countries in Europe.
In 2018, the SIG Air Handling division reported approximately 350 €M revenue while the France Air group recorded almost 150 €M. The new group is expected to achieve a combined revenue of approximately 500 €M, propelling the new venture into the top 5 biggest players on the European ventilation market for indoor air quality and comfort.
Statement from Laurent DOLBEAU, CEO of the France Air Group:
“This acquisition will enable the group to change dimension and become one of the leaders in the European ventilation market, without changing our business model. It will also enable the group to retain its financial independence and preserve the human and management values which have been key to the success of France Air: managerial autonomy, accountability and commitment“.
Statement from Olivier DOLBEAU, President of the France Air Group:
“This acquisition provides a great opportunity for the France Air group to grow and expand onto the international scene whilst retaining the family's shareholding, an approach which has been central to the history the company has built over the last 60 years“.
