Operation
For fan motors fitted with thermal contacts (TK): wiring diagram 1
When the electrical supply is connected to the fan speed controller the POWER lamp will illuminate. If the circuit breaker within the fan speed controller has tripped (press to reset) the POWER lamp will not illuminate.
Select the desired fan speed using the 6 position (Off & 5 speeds, 1=minimum, 5=maximum) rotary switch. The TRIP lamp will illuminate.
Press the START switch. The TRIP lamp will go out and the fan will start at the selected speed.
If the fan motor overheats and the thermal contacts (wired back to TK connections) open circuit then the controller will trip I.E the fan will stop and the TRIP lamp will illuminate.
The cause of the tripping should be investigated prior to re-starting the fan. The fan can be re-started (once the thermal contacts reset) by pressing the START switch.
For fan motors without thermal contacts (TK): wiring diagram 2
When using fan motors without thermal contacts ensure the connections TK in the fan speed controller are linked together.
